April 6 - Message From Coach Nergard

Greetings to All,

As we work our way through the unprecedented times we are facing I just wanted to reach out and say to all that our coaching staff and I have you in our minds.  We like all others are missing our passion, "BASEBALL" as much as all of you are. We thrive on the teaching of the game as much as you thrive on the playing of and spectating of the games.

I for one just enjoy watching the kids play and compete with their peers. So hopefully these times will be short lived going forward.

Players, try to keep active physically as well as mentally in your approach to your daily life.  Academics is what we really need to concentrate on during these trying times. With that said also try and keep up with some sort of baseball specific activities.  GOOGLE "Baseball Workouts". There are hundreds of things you can do to help improve your skill set's. Try doing two or three different workouts a day.  Mix it up and keep trying something new.

Parents thanks for your continued efforts to keep our student athletes and your children focused on their futures.  This will pass and we will get back to our normal activities.  When this happens we will all be more prepared to continue business as usual.

A note to our SENIORS: Keep faith with your commitment to be a good friend, citizen, son/daughter in all your future endeavors!  I don't at this point know if they will let us play this spring, but if not I for one feel terrible that you are missing the most important times of your senior season/year.  There are no words to express my feelings for your loss of these events and activities.  Remember as I have conveyed in the past:  Control the things within your control.  Don't worry about the things that are out of your control.

I myself have missed a great opportunity just to spend your Senior moments with each of you and trust me it does take a toll on me as your coach.

In conclusion, I wish everyone peace, happiness, and continued good heath going forward.  We will survive this and let's everyone stay "PANTHER PROUD".

Feel free to contact me with any comments or concerns

Have a wonderful day!
